George was born May 14, 1831, in Viernheim in the Grand Duchy of Hesse and by Rhine, an independent country and member state of the German Confederation. Viernheim is in Hesse, Germany, today.

George Dewald ... He passed away June 27, 1899.^[1] He was buried in section C, -ln. 251 of Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, USA.^[2]
