1906 - Pauline and Louis lost a son Elmer. He was about 16 years old when he drowned in the Winooski River while fishing in June. His body was released to his parents to bring back to new York. Unfortunately Pauline never returned to the other two children who were waiting at home, Beatrice and Glenn. Glenn was 12 years old at this time. Louis returned to the homestead in Montpelier on Haggett Rd. where he left the two children in the hands of a brother Franklin. Two weeks or so later, Franklin left the kids to fend for themselves. Another brother, Albert, who was married to Pauline's sister Myrtha, farmed the kids out to area families and took over the house and saw mill.
Place of death New York or Vermont.
