Biography

Georgianna was born in 1894. She is the daughter of Samuel Dexter and Maggie Headman.^[1][2] This record gives her name as Georgine Mari Dexter. She married Frederick Irons in 1911.^[3] They are found in the 1915 NY census living with her mother.^[4] Three children are shown- Walter, David and Frederick Irons. As Walter was born prior to 1911, he is likely from his father's previous marriage. Frederick is shown as a widower on their marriage certificate; parents given as William Irons and Margaret McCarthy (?). It is probable that the marriage did not last, or her husband Frederick died, as Georgina remarried abt. 1923 to George Treiber. The 1925 NY census has Georgianna's children Walter, David and Frederick living with them. The 1940 census finds a George Treiber and Georgiana living in Brooklyn, NY. No occupation is given for George to help identify the couple, but it is possible the correct couple.^[5] It is not known the date of death for Georgianna. The NY death index has 1951, but this could be the record for her husband George. The Social Security death index has her listed with correct name, birthdate and parents. Under notes, it states " 04 Nov 1983: Name listed as GEORGEANNA DEXTER TREIBER".^[6]
