SMITH MOWRY, son of Sylvester, born March 17, 1795 ; married Sept. 23,1823, Amey Dexter, daughter of Lewis and Lydia (Comstock) Dexter, of Smithfield, Rhode Island. ; died at Charleston, S. C, March 15, 1861. She died May 9, 1874. [1]
They moved to Charleston, S. C, about 1816, and on September 23, 1823, having returned home, he married Amey, the youngest daughter of Lewis Dexter, of Smithfield, carrying her at once to his Southern home. [1]
He died March 10, 1861. [1]
Amey wife survived him twelve years ; and together they rest in their last sleep, in the family burial-ground of the First Baptist Church of Charleston. [1]
