Biography

Bernardo di Miceli, son of the late Michaele di Miceli and Leoluchina Rizzo, marries Gioachina Bartolotta, daughter of the late Francesco Bartulotta and the living Giuseppa Sciacchitano, on 12 January 1795.[1]

Maestro Bernardo and Gioachina have at least six children: Michaele (c. 1797), Giovanni (1808), Giuseppe (c. 1810), Antonino (c. 1821), Maria Giuseppa (c. 1821), and Calogero (c. 1827).

I estimate Michaele is born soon after his parents' marriage. He is named after his paternal grandfather.

Giovanni is born on 19 September 1808 and baptized the next day. His godparents are Giuseppe Trombadore and Sebastiana, who are married.[2]

I estimate Giuseppe is born around 1810, twenty years before he marries.

Antonino is born around 1811, based on his reported age at death.

Michaele marries Serafina di Giglia on 19 April 1819.[3]

Maria Giuseppa is born around 1821, based on her age at the time of her daughter's birth. She is named after her paternal grandmother.

I estimate Calogero is born around 1827, twenty years before he marries.

Maestro Giuseppe marries Caterina Salemi on 31 January 1830.

Maria Giuseppa marries Giovanni Piranio on 19 July 1835. Bernardo and Gioachina are both still living at this time.[4]

Antonino marries Lucia Carrabba on 13 June 1841. Bernardo has died by this time.

Calogero marries Lucia's sister, Salvatrice, on 20 June 1847. Giacoma is still living at this time.

Maestro Antonino dies at age 45 (b. 1811) on 13 June 1856. His wife, Lucia, survives him. [5]

Maestro Giovanni marries Rosalia Giuffrida, a widow, on 17 June 1871.[6]

Giovanni dies at age 68 on 22 June 1878 in Palermo, the widower of Rosalia Giuffrida.[7]
