Johnie was born in 1911. He is the son of Joseph Doerner and Rebecca Barofsky. [1] [2]
The Diamond family lived in King St, Bourke, Melbourne, Victoria where Joseph was a shopkeeper until his death in 1920 [3]
He went to West Melbourne State School and later to Melbourne High
Yoina took up tennis and in 1931 became the Australian Jewish Tennis Champion for Singles, Doubles (with Mark Rosenberg) & Mixed Doubles.
Johnie Diamond married Rae Evelin Dyte in 1936 in Victoria. [4]
In 1937 Johnie and Rae lived at 166A Barkly St, St Kilda, Victoria. [5]
In 1990 they lived at F 2 / 43 Edgar St, Glen Iris, Victoria
He passed away in 1996 and was cremated at Springvale Botanical Cemetery on 5 January 1996.
