Baldomero Diaz Muñoz was born in Mexico.

Baldomero Diaz Muñoz was born on 27 Feb 1890 in San Pedro Piedra Gorda, Cuauhtémoc, Zacatecas, Mexico[1], son of Felix Diaz Muñoz and Maria Luisa Muñoz.

Baldomero married Angelina "Angela" Bernal Diaz about 1910 in Iowa. Baldo must have been doing well saving money, as in 1916 he paid for his brother Gilberto, Gilberto's wife Augustina, their child Luz, and Augustina's sister Maria Maria Jáquez, to migrate to El Paso. In 1925 Baldo, thirty-five years old, lived in Lime Creek, Iowa with his wife Angela and their eight children. He had been in the country for fourteen years and in Iowa for three years. In 1940 Baldo and Angela lived in Osage where he worked doing odd jobs. He owned his house and paid a mortgage. He was naturalized in Osage in 1942.

On 1 January 1925, the Baldo and Angeline lived in Lime Creek, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa with two of Angela's children from her first marriage- listed as Caremal Dabilo and Alfonzo Dabilo, and six of the couple's children- Richard, Rosie, John, Lupe, Ursula, and Philip.[2]

On 10 April 1930, Baldo and Angela and their children- Richard, Rose, John G., Guadalupe C., Ursula, Felipe, and Felix, along with stepson Alfonso Debila lived on Oak Street in Osage, Mitchell County, Iowa. They owned their home, valued at $1,500, but did not have a radio. Baldo was a farm laborer.[3]

On 10 April 1940, Baldo and Angela lived at 319 Oak Street in Osage with their six children- Rose, John, Loyse, Ursula, Philip, and Felix. Baldo was working at odd jobs as a laborer, daughter Rose was in typing school, while John and Guadalupe were working in a park.[4] By this time World War II had already started. The Soviet Union had invaded Poland, and Britain and France had declared war on Germany. Pearl Harbor was attacked in 1941 and the United States entered the war. Baldo signed up for the draft in 1942. He was described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall, with black eyes, gray hair, a dark complexion, and no identifying features. Baldo had six sons, with the youngest, Felix, being just eighteen years old. All of them enlisted in the Army.

Osage, Iowa celebrated its 100th anniversary in June 1956 with a large parade. Baldo received an award for "the most distinguished beard."[5]

Baldomero died on 11 Nov 1970 in San Diego, San Diego, California, United States aged 80.

Baldo was buried in the Osage Cemetery in Osage, Mitchell County, Iowa.[6]
