Marriage

Samuel was married (1st) 21 July 1762 to Sarah Trowbridge, and they had 5 children. He married (2nd) 05 August 1774 to Phebe Benedict, and they had 7 children.

He married Sarah Trowbridge 21 July 1762 in Danbury, Fairfield County, Connecticut Colony.[2]

Their children, born in Danbury, were:[3][2]

  1. Mabel. born 15 June 1763.
  2. Rodah [Rhoda in Danbury town records], born 18 April 1765.
  3. Saloma [Sallomy in Danbury town records], born 5 June 1767.
  4. Samuel, born 6 November 1769.
  5. Sarah, born 5 June 1772.

Samuel's wife, Sarah, died 15 June 1772 in Danbury.[3][2] It is probable that she died as a result of complications in the birth of her daughter, Sarah.

He married, second, Phebe Benedict, 5 August 1774 in Danbury. They had children:[2][3]

  1. Mary, born 20 April 1776.
  2. Rene [Rane in Danbury town records], born 28 February 1778.
  3. Adah, born 13 November 1779.
  4. Amelia, born 23 April 1781.
  5. John, born 19 June 1784.
