Biography

John was born in 1817. He is the son of John Dick and Mary Watson.

The household was smaller but still on Springfield in 1861.[1] John was a ?landed proprieter. Mary's birthplace is listed as Kilbride in this census. John Jr was at home working with his father.

DNA

A descendant of John (see emails in possession of Abby Glann, and Gail Gish and Dick Haller (daughter/father pair) match on chromosome 2, segment 3152031 to 12498718, and find a MRCA of John Dick and Mary Watson Dick, parents of John and Robert Dick.
