Biography

Jacob was born 11 Feb 1833 in Pennsylvania,[1] son of Philip Dick and Mary (Abbott) Dick. In 1850 he was living with his parents in Shrewsbury Twp, York Co, PA.[2]

He married Christina (or Christianna, Christeena) Hefty (or Hofland), about 1856–1859.[3] In 1860 they were living in Rye Twp, Perry Co, PA, along with one child (Anna L.). Jacob's older brother Israel was living in a household nearby.[4]

Sometime between 1862 and 1866 the family moved to Lewis Co, MO, near Monticello.[5] Jacob and Christina were living there in 1870 along with five children (Ann, Henry, Charles, George and Lizzie).[6] In 1880 Jacob and Christina were living in Highland Twp, Lewis Co, MO, along with six children (Henry, Charles, George, Elizabeth, Mary and Catherine).[7] In 1900 they were still living in Highland Twp, Lewis Co, MO, now with only their youngest child (Emma) living at home.[8] In 1910 they were living with their daughter Emma and her family in Highland Twp, Lewis Co, MO.[9]

Jacob died 15 May 1912, and is buried in Durham Cemetery, Durham, Lewis Co, MO.[10]
