There is no evidence that Eleanor ever married, in fact, after giving up her child Gladys, (who told she was 1 yr old at the time), to her great uncle William Dick and his wife Kate, (who were aged and never able to have children) Eleanor moved with her father and siblings to California. Eleanor continued to live with her father until his death at which time she shows up as living with her sister and family on census records so she never lived alone or married. Gladys was told that her parents died in a Ferry Boat accident but she was in possession of her original birth certificate later in life. My aunt found it as a young woman and was reprimanded and told to mind her business when she asked her mother what it was. I believe her mother, Eleanor may have been seduced or raped and the trauma caused her to never marry. She worked at a newspaper in California so she was not mentally handicapped.
