Roger Dick, 63, passed away after a long illness, on July 12, 2018 in Billings in the presence of family. Roger was born Jan. 8, 1955 to James Dick and Gwen (Dick) McClanahan. Roger attended Billings Central High School and then joined the Air Force.

At 19, Roger married Susan (Dick) Straw-Guse. From this marriage they had two children Otto and Eric Dick. Roger remarried later in life to Stacey Lewis-Dick and from this marriage they had one child Sami Dick.

Roger’s career change took him to the post office, until he fully retired at 62. Roger was passionate about baseball, fishing and spending time with his family. He was able to share his passion for playing, coaching and watching baseball (especially whatever team his kids played for and the Yankees) with all three of his children. He was also known by family and close friends as being very protective of the people he loved.

Roger is survived by his children, sons Otto (Leah Hodgson) Dick (children Hannah and Jacob) & Eric Dick (child Olive) and daughter Sami Dick. He is also survived by his mother Gwen McClanahan, sister Sharyl (Jim) Zahn (children Anne & Holly), half-brothers Todd Dick and Rodney (Tina) (children Bailey, Riley, Tobey, Carlin) Dick, step mom Ardella Dick. Roger is also survived by numerous other family and friends, of whom there are too many to list. Roger was preceded in death by his father James Dick.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at St. Pius Church, 717 18th St W, Billings with a celebration and luncheon to follow. He will be laid to rest with military honors on July 24, 2018, 2 p.m., Yellowstone National Veterans Cemetery, Laurel, MT. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to any of the youth baseball programs in Billings or to the charity of one’s choice.
