Janet (Dick) Pye was born in Scotland.

Janet was born about 1827, in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, the eldest daughter of John Dick and Jean (or Jane) Adam.

Janet (Dick) Pye migrated from Scotland to Australia.

It is not known exactly when Janet emigrated to the Colony of New South Wales, whether alone or with other family members, just that she did so.

Janet married David Pye in 1858, at Parramatta, in the Windsor district of New South Wales.^[1]
