Hi Carl,

Thanks for this info; I didn't have a death date for James. James is the son of James N. Cannaday and Martha (Turner) Cannaday. Martha is the daughter of George Wilson Turner and Mildred (Stone) Turner. I appreciate and I'm amazed at all that you do; congrats and keep up the good work.

Hi Carl,

I have reviewed the new african-american cemetery categories you created. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Fisherman_Cemetery%2C_Ivanhoe%2C_Virginia https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Jim_Shucks_Cemetery%2C_Barren_Springs%2C_Virginia https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Pauper_Cemetery%2C_Wythe%2C_Virginia https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Hickory_Hill_Slave_and_African_American_Cemetery%2C_Hanover%2C_Virginia

They all look good. One suggestion thought, you don't have to add location categories as they are automatically created from the parameters parent= and parent1=.

Thank you for your help! If you have any other questions regarding African-American Cemeteries feel free to reach out to me. Regards, Denise

Hi Carl,

Thanks for completing the merges. Since this was a very distant relationship for me, I'll go ahead and bow out as PM. If you see my name on any other family profiles, let me know.

Your very distant cousin,

Claire :)

Carl, thank you for your work on the Hairston family. Thomas Hairston (1783-1838), my ggggandfather, was born in Abbeville, S.C. and died in Jasper County, Georgia. I have been trying to identify his parents but have not been able to verify. Have you run across his name in your research? He was married to Lucy Boynton (1787-1844) in Warren County, Georgia and their daughter, Nancy Jane Hairston, was married to Michael Archer Roberts from Butts County, Georgia. Thank you. Hello Carl!

I’m conducting the 6-month check in for the US Black Heritage Project. Because we are growing so fast, it’s not always possible for me to see what everyone’s working on.

I’d love to hear what you’ve been working on and if you are still happy being a part of the Slavery Team. Members can change teams at any time. If you need something to work on, we now have a master task list here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:US_Black_Heritage_Project_Tasklist

We now have a project badge! Hooray! As soon as I hear back from you that you’d like to continue with the project, I will add the badge to your profile.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Emma
