Biography

  • Nathaniel Dickey was born about 1838 probably at the family farm at Ballybollen, Co. Antrim, Ireland. He was the son of William and Martha Dickey.
  • Nathaniel married Rebecca Simpson on 19 Sep 1870 at Ballymena, Co. Antrim, Ireland[1]. They had at least eight children: Martha Dickey (b. 1871), Jane Dickey (b. 1872), Rose Ann Dickey (b. 1875), William Dickey (b. 1877), Elizabeth Dickey (b. 1879), Margaret Dickey (1881), Mary Dickey (1883), Agnes Dickey (1886).
  • In the 1901 Ireland census, Nathaniel was age 62 living at Galgorm Parks, Co. Antrim with his wife Rebecca Dickey (56), son William Dickey (23), daughters Margaret Dickey (19), Mary Dickey (17), Nancy Dickey (15)[2].
  • Nathaniel died in 1907 age 68 at Galgorm Parks, Co. Antrim[3] and was buried at Ballyscullion Parish Church, Templemoyle with his wife Rebecca and their daughter Lizzie[4].
