  • William Dickey was born about 1813, probably in Ireland. His parents are not known.
  • William married Martha (probably Rainey[1]) about 1837.
  • William and Martha probably had at least five children. Sons Charters Dickey, John Dickey, Samuel Dickey and Nathaniel Dickey are mentioned in William's will[2]. His sons John and Samuel emigrated to New Zealand. The death register entry for Martha says Rose Ann Dickey daughter was present at her death.
  • William farmed at Ballybollen, Drummaul, Co. Antrim. In the Griffith's Valuation in 1862 William Dickey had one plot of land at Ballybollen of 25 acres 1 rood and 20 perches[3].
  • William died in 1888 age 75 at his farm at Ballybollen, Drummaul, Co. Antrim, Ireland[4].
