Margaret “Jean “Clayton, 93 of Mt. Zion died at 10 am. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in Eastview Terrace Nursing Home in Sullivan, Illinois.
Margaret “Jean” was born in November of 1923 in Decatur the daughter of Wilbur A. and Mabel Dickey. She graduated from Mt. Zion High School and worked in accounting for Illinois Power Company. She served as a State Officer in the Mt. Zion Rebekah Lodge and was a member for sixty-four years. She married Raymond Clayton in October of 1944. He preceded her in death in March of 2011.
Surviving are her sons, Vernon Clayton of Mt. Zion, Ron Clayton and his wife Phyllis, of Athens, Tennessee, grandchildren, Wendy Marie Clayton St. Cyr, Jody Clayton Mason, and Tony Odell Clayton, four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Kevin Ray Clayton.
