Biography

Samuel was the son of Jonathan Dickinson (abt.1715-) and Dorothy (Stoughton) Dickinson (abt.1714-). He was born May 5,1753 in Amherst, Massachusetts[1][2].

Samuel most likely moved to Petersham, Massachusetts[3] where he married Susannah Whitney (See research notes)[4].

Sometime before 1790 he moved to Brattleboro, Vermont[5] where he passed away March 15, 1817[6]. He was 64 years old.

Research Notes

According to Find A Grave, his wife was Susannah Whitney (1763-1843)
This Samuel Dickinson probably was married to Susannah Whitney because they were married in Petersham, Mass. and I found this small entry in "U.S. Newspaper Extractions from the Northeast, 1704-1930" from Ancestry.com: Dickinson, Samuel, formerly of Petersham, Mass., d. in Brattleboro, Vt., aged 64 (c.c. May 31, 1817). *
