Robert William Dickinson was the only son of William & Minnie Dickinson. He was born on 7 March 1892. When Robin (as he was called as a child) was one year old, Minnie became pregnant again. Before completing her pregnancy, Minnie died at the age of 22 (fall?/complications from a tubal pregnancy).
After her untimely death at the age of just 22, Robin (1892-1981), then 15 months old, (his distraught father relocated to San Francisco) went to live with his maternal grandparents (Marshall & Fanny English) who raised him as their 9th child. He was only 6 years younger than Roy, the English's youngest son. Robin's aunt, Laura Martin English, was just 19 when he came to live with them - and she took special delight in him, and always held him dear to her heart.
