Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Karen,

I wanted to suggest that you edit your tag(s) to show any surnames you are researching. Each surname should be in it's own tag with a comment as to interest in the surname and genealogy. When you list a surname, location or historical event in your tags, you can then click them and see a list of other WikiTree genealogists who are also researching those names, locations, etc.

You'll also get notifications in your daily & weekly emails when there is activity relevant to your tags.

Information on Tags can be found at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags

This Link will auto-populate your tag page. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following

Please let me know if you have any questions! :-)

Welcome to WikiTree, Karen! We're glad to have you here. What are your family history interests?

If you decide you'd like to link your ancestors to our shared tree, read the Honor Code, and then choose that you'd like to volunteer. One of the greeters would be glad to confirm your intention to become a WikiGenealogist.

If you need any help getting started, check out the Help section, or visit the G2G forum.
