Biography

Benjamin was born in 1784. Benjamin Dickson to Michael and Margaret Barnett Dickson. He attended Shy's meeting house in Hancock Co. Ga. and when he and his family moved to Crawford Co. he established Dixon Methodist Church in that Co. He passed away in 1864-5

In the approximate year of 1800 or so, there was a camp revival in Hancock County at Shy's meeting house area where many Methodist preachers attended the event. According to the "Bible in Pocket, Gun in Hand" page 78-79, possibly 3,000 people attended. Benjamin Dickson and his family were recorded attending there 1836.[1]
