William was born William Dickson in about 1815 in Scotland, and christened on the 29th of November, 1821, in Barony, Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom.[citation needed]
At 18, in 1841, he was a Cabinet Maker Apprentice, living with his father and siblings on the north side of High Street, Wigtown, Wigtownshire, Scotland, United Kingdom.[1]
At 28, on the 1st of September, 1851, he married Sarah Fleming at Penninghame, Wigtownshire, Scotland, United Kingdom and they had three children.[2]
At 38, in 1861, he was a Cabinet Maker, living with at 54 Taliesin Street Liverpool, Lancashire, England, with Sarah and 3 children.[3]
At 48, in 1871, he was living at 9 Lune Street, Everton, Liverpool, with Sarah and 2 children.[4]
At 58, in 1881, he was a Ship's Joiner, living at 17 Ruben Street, Everton, Liverpool, with Sarah and 2 children , and also Sarah's sister and a granddaughter.[5]
At 76, in 1891, he was listed as a retired Farm Labourer, living with Sarah and son John, in Allonby & West Newton, Cumberland, England, United Kingdom.[6]
After 76, and after 1891, he died, in England, probably.[citation needed]
