Biography

Jean was born in 1792 in Kirkurd[1]. Her father's name was James, but her mother's was not recorded. Her daughter's baptism records[2].

Jean and her husband were married in Dalkeith, and the marriage was recorded also in Kirkurd the following day[3]. They had seven children[4]. Kirkurd is a small village about 19 miles south-west of Dalkeith.

She died in Dalkeith in December 1839[5].
