Richard was born about 1863. His father was Richard Dickson, an engineer.
In 1887 he married Elizabeth Erdis, a mill worker;daughter of Robert Erdis, a fireman .[1]
In 1901 on Census Day, Richard was living with his wife Elizabeth and 7 children - Samuel (13), Richard (11), Rosanna (9), Robert (7), John (5), Elizabeth (3) and Jane (1) at house 14 in Dundella Street (Victoria, Down. He was 38 years old. [2]
He died on 8 January 1910' aged 41 years at 31 Lisburn Road, Belfast,County Antrim. His death was registered at Belfast, County Antrim[3]. His cause of death was pulmonary tuberculosis, exhaustion, certified. His daughter Roseann was present at death.
