Biography

Mary was the daughter of Leonard Digges and Briudget Wilsford.^[1][2]

"The xvth daye of October John Barbar and Mary Dige were married" (sic) in St Andrew, Tilmanstone, Kent.^[3][4]

There are eight baptism records in Tilmanstone, Kent, that is most likely John and Mary's, although only the latte two state a John Barber as father. Barber Margaret 1576

Mary was named as a sister in the 1591 will of her brother Thomas Digges, ^[5]

Thomas bequeathed: "unto my sister, Mary, twenty nobles yearly annuity during her life, and forgive my offence"

And in a codicil written shortly before his death, Thomas bequeaths "one hundred marks more thereof I will shall be paid to my sister, Mary, within two years after my death, to bestow upon her children."
