Jeannie Ness Dill was born around 1899 in Great Village, Nova Scotia, the daughter of James P. and Lucretia (Davidson) Dill.
Jeannie, 23, married Charles Elmore Coates, 29, on 25 May 1922, at the home of her father, James P. Dill, esq., Victoria British Columbia. Jeannie was a spinster, and Charles was a bachelor (they were both never married), they both could read and write, and they were both Presbyterians.
Charles was born in Victoria, B.C., and lived at 1904 Leighton Road. His father, William Henry Coates, was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Charles’ mother, Elizabeth McIntosh Leslie was born in Edinburg, Scotland.
Jeannie lived at 1019 Richmond Ave., Victoria, B.C. Her parents were both born in Nova Scotia. [1]
