Diller-505 and Diller-401 appear to represent the same person because: Clearly meant to be the same person. Conflicting (but totally unsourced) data should be mentioned in biography section of profile.

Diller-505 and Diller-401 are not ready to be merged because: There are too many profiles of this person with varying surnames and dates. Until some verifiable sources are provided they should remain separate.

Agreed... but the profile managers should research and add sources rather than postponing the merge. A merge proposal is essentially a request to do that.

Diller-401, Diller-505, Dorner-58 and Dormer-199 appear to represent the same person. Some Geni and Ancestry trees show the Diller surname. Even the tree cited on Dorner-58 gives the name as Diller, not Dorner.

But there are no sources shown for any name for this woman. So should they be merged into Diller? Or into Unknown?

I agree. I just reproposed the merge and it was set as an unmerged match again. Profile managers should research and add sources rather than simply postponing the merge.

Traci you are completely correct. We have waited a long time here already. Combining these profiles which are essentially unsourced does not mean that subsequent research cannot be completed and additional changes and corrections made at that time.

Unless someone can present some compelling reason why these profiles should not be cleaned up, this merge should proceed.
