Biography

Charles J. Dillon's 37 year naval career started as a cadet in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve on May 5, 1931. He then served as paymaster, accounting officer, supply officer, and after serving actively in WWII, became comptroller of the RCN. His active service was aboard the battleship HMS Royal Sovereign, HMS Nabob, and HMCS Prince Henry (auxiliary cruiser). While aboard the Nabob, it was nearly sunk by a torpedo in the Barents Sea, losing 21 men. He married Winsome Case (Morris) on the 17th of November, 1942 and they had 2 sons and a daughter.
