Biography

European Aristocracy
Henrietta Dillon was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Henrietta Maria Dillon (married name Stanley) was born on 21 December 1807 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, daughter of Henrietta (Browne) Dillon-Lee and Henry Augustus Dillon-Lee.[citation needed]

She married Edward John Stanley on 6 October 1826.[citation needed] Their children were:[citation needed]

In 1851 Henrietta was living at Grosvenor Crescent, London, with her husband and children Henry, Alice, Blanche (Henrietta), Maude, Catherine, Algernon and Rosalind. Henrietta's birthplace of Canada was not given instead she was described as "British Subject".[1]

Henrietta died on 16 February 1895 in London, England, aged 87 years.[2]

Bertrand Russell (the British philosopher and mathematician) was Henrietta's grandson. According to Wikipedia, he feared her ridicule and described her as "an eighteenth century type, rationalistic and unimaginative, keen on enlightenment, and contemptuous of Victorian goody-goody priggery".[3]
