Biography

Chief Baron of the Irish Exchequer (appointed 1570). [1]

Sir Lucas Dillon was born 1538 at Newtown House, County Meath, Ireland. [2]} (Mother born 1513.)

He was a distinguished lawyer. [3]

He married firstly Jane Bathe around 1561 at Athearne Castle, County Meath, Ireland.

He married secondly Marion Sherle, widow of Sir Christopher Barnewall of Turvey. [4]

They had 7 sons and 5 daughters. [3]

Son James Dillon was the 1st Earl of Roscommon.

One daughter married Lord Belfield. [3]

Lucas died in Dublin in 1592 and was buried at Newtown Abbey near Trim. [5]
