On 21 November 1947, Mary Emma attempted to return to her sister Hester Dinsmore in Boscobel, Wisconsin where she was a resident. [4] Once Hester reached retirement age, she was afraid to attend the celebrations of her family's weddings, etc. lest she lose her right to go home afterwards.
