On the 12th of August 1819, Richard DINZEY, a successful merchant born on the tiny island of Saba on the 05th of June 1796, and residing on the then Swedish island of Saint-Barthelemy, became a Swedish subject.
He was still a young man, not married, but yet, so highly regarded by the Swedish authorities that he was made one of them.
Sir Richard DINZEY had to take an oath to the Swedish king Oscar I on the same day under the Order of Wasa.[7]
"The Court of Justice summons Thomas DINZEY, representative of Reverend LÖNNER, to hear him following Charlotte WINFIELD's complaint. It can be noted here that Thomas DINZEY is the Reverend's brother-in-law because he is married to Rebecca, Catherine's sister. Thomas DINZEY was also born in Saba, he is the brother of Richard DINZEY and both are rich and influential traders in Gustavia."
