Biography

Cornwallis W. Dishman^[1] was born 15 May 1822 in Franklin, Simpson, Kentucky. He died 5 July 1889 and was buried at Pittsville Cemetery, Pittsville, Johnson County, Missouri.

On most records, he went by "C.W. Dishman".

He married about 1847 (based on age of oldest child) Julia A. Baird. Her maiden name is documented on some birth records of her children (see below).

In 1850, he is probably the Wm. Dishman with wife J Dishman and son S Dishman farming in Simpson, Kentucky.^[2]

In 1860, they lived in Simpson County, Kentucky. He was a farmer. In addition to his wife and children, living with him was also one Nancy Smith, 69, from Virginia.^[3]

In 1880, he was enumerated as head of household in Jackson, Johnson County, Missouri.^[4]
