Biography

Mary was born about 1797 in Maryland. In 1818, when she would have been about 21 years old, she married Elijah Phelps in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The 1850 Census enumerated the family in Anne Arundel County, showing Elijah (age 62) employed as a blacksmith, Mary (age 53), and six children, ranging in age from 11 to 21.

She passed away about 1880.
