Douglas Henry John Dix was born 22 Feb, 1878 at 10 Boyson Road, Walworth, London to James Charles and Fanny Dix nee Cozens. He was baptised 5 May in Newington St. Mary.[1]
1881 he lived with his family at 10 Boyson Road.[2]
1891 he is still with his family living at 20 Nunhead Grove.[3]
At the age of 21 he joined the military 27 Apr 1899, the 97th Foot Soldiers and is recorded as being 5 foot 6 1/4 inches tall.[4]
He married Ellen Russel 27 Nov 1907 in Ticehurst, Sussex. They had one daughter Ellen Dorothy.[5]
1911 England Census shows him in Hampstead as a "Milk Carrier".[6]
1914-1920 Military records show his membership[7]
1923 Electoral registers show he and his wife residing at 75 Iverson Road.[8]
1930 Electoral Register for Berkshire shows them living at Reading road.[9]
1939 Census shows him as a Milk Roundsman in Wokingham.[10]
He died 8 Apr 1957 in Winnersh, Berkshire, England and his wife survived him by one year.[11]
