Isaac Dixon was born in 1726. He married Ann Nichols on 2/12/1748 (Centre Meeting, Centerville, DE).

He had four children:

  • Thomas 1753 (marriage to Sarah 4/14/1773)
  • Isaac 1756
  • Silas 1760
  • Jehu 1765 (marriage to Mary Taylor 1790)

Isaac died in 1770.[1]

Real Estate

Dixon-Wilson House

In 1732 Isaac's father, John built a home, now located on Valley Road, west of the house built by his brother, Henry. The home has a datestone inscribed "I & J Dixon - 1732" - The 'I' referring to Isaac, who inherited the home after John died. The home was eventually sold outside the family after 1832. [2] [3] [NOTE: This last source indicates the next inheritor was Isaac's son, John. This relationship/person is not yet found or verified]

  1. Biographical information provided by Sharon, a descendant of Isaac, in an August 9, 2013 e-mail to Liz Shifflett. Sharon's great-aunt did the research, recording "birth and death and some marriage dates by checking logs at Quaker meeting houses near where we live in Delaware. She traced our lineage back to Henry and Rose Dixon."

  • WikiTree profile Dixon-1159 created through the import of DIXON.GED on Oct 11, 2011 by Glenn Dixon. See the Changes page for the details of edits by Glenn and others.
  • DIXON.GED included ranges for birth and death years (in Place fields). I selected 1745 for birth year, which meshes with 1775 guess for Jehu's birth year, and 1805 for death year (totally random). Note that I was a bit off on my guesses.
  • Research by Thomas Dixon's descendant of logs at Quaker meeting houses in Delaware (information provided in August 2013 by researcher's great-niece)
