Ann Dixon was born on 25 Feb 1824 and baptised on 11 Apr 1824 at Asfordby, Leicestershire, England. She was the daughter of George and Charlotte Dixon.[1]
John Hilton married Ann Dixon in 1848 at Hastings, Sussex.[2] They had five children: Kezia Hilton (b. 1849), Ann Hilton (1851–1852), Mary Dixon Hilton (1853–1869), Lois Hilton (b. 1856), John Herbert Hilton (b. 1860).
In the 1851 census, Ann Hilton was age 27 living at Limpsfield, Surrey with her husband John Hilton (29), daughters Kezia Hilton (1), Ann Hilton (0). Also a servant Sarah Dody (15). Occupation: School Mistress.[3]
In the 1861 census, Ann Hilton was age 37 living at Portishead, Somerset with her husband John Hilton (37), daughters Kezia Hilton (11), Mary Hilton (9), Lois Hilton (3), son John H Hilton (0).[4]
In the 1871 census, Ann Hilton was age 47 living at Stogursey, Somerset with her husband John Hilton (49), daughters Kezia Hilton (21), Lois Hilton (15), son John Hilton (10).[5]
Ann's husband John Hilton died in 1879.
In the 1881 census, Ann Hilton was age 56, widow, living at Fore Street, Stogursey, Somerset with her daughter Kezia Hilton (28), son John Hilton (20). Occupation: Sub Post Mistress Draper & C.[6]
In the 1891 census, Ann Hilton was age 67, widow, living at Fisherton Anger, Wiltshire with her son John Herbert Hilton (30).[7]
In the 1901 census, Ann Hilton was age 77 living at Bristol, Gloucestershire with her son John H Hilton (40).[8]
Ann was probably the Ann Hilton who died in 1905 age 81 at Bristol.[9]
