He died in early August 2005. According to his obituary [1] he had TB as a child, and spent 18 months in hospital. Because of his weak health he did not serve directly in World War II. but spent time in London and Barrow, repairing bombed-out buildings. He worked as a joiner, and then an undertaker, then buying out the business. After he retired he and Margaret ran a small caravan site. He and Margaret had 3 children, Peter (who worked with him in the joinery business), Geraldine, and Margaret; five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.[2]
