".....Joseph, in Ireland, married Sarah Dixon, a sister to the paternal grandfather of of my (Benjamin McReynolds') second wife, by whom he had Joseph, Robert, James, John, Samuel, William and two daughters whose names I do not know. One of them married a man whose name was John Reed.
My Uncle Joseph was among the most religious men of his age, nor was his wife, in this respect, so far as I can judge, a whit behind him. I was well acquainted with them both, and although they both denied the Doctrine, I firmly believe that they both lived many years and at last died in a state of Christian perfection. My Uncle and my father both embraced religion in the Whitefieldean revival in Pennsylvania. They were baptized, if I mistake not, by Gilbert Tenant, and joined the Presbyterians, and both supported a regular and reputable standing in the church until they were called to join the Church triumphant."

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sarah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sarah:
I removed Joseph Dixon and Janed Kennedy as parents, because of the possibility that John had a father named "Joseph". He is absent from the list of children I've seen reported elsewhere for John Dixon, who passed away on the voyage from Newry to Newcastle, Delaware in 1741.
