Bio from F.A.G.

My source Carolyn J. on the bio for the memorial below:

*2. Daughter was Sarah Dickson Falls who married William Falls. Assumed burial site was same as daughter's burial.

Father was Thomas Dickson, b. 1720 in Ireland, d. 1783 in Kings Creek, Tyron, North Carolina. Mother was Nancy McMillan b. unk, d. 1813 in Wilkes, North Carolina.

Nancy was daughter of Malcolm McMillan, Jr. b. 1746 in Mull, Kintyre,Scotland d. 1825 in Richmond County,NC and Mary Mc Intyre b. 1750 in Kintyre, Scotland, d. unknown. They married in Cumberland, North Carolina in 1772.

Malcolm was the son of Malcolm McMillan b. 1716 and Catherine McArthur McMillan b. 1716 who both died in 1805 in Cumberland, NC.

Mary Dickson, the 2nd wife, had petitioned for John Dickson's Pension in 1854, when she reached age 62 yrs. of age. She received the pension with the help of others to verify her identity, witness her marriage in 1817 to John Dickson. Some of the witnesses were John's children through his first wife and of friends and neighbors.

I have copies in my file of the Petition for the Revolutionary war grant, pension, and so on. I have attached a copy of a letter to thier great grand son George R. Lewis in 1933.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
