Charles Marshall Dobell was born at Erith, (then in Kent,) as were two of his siblings. Their parents were both natives of Cranbrook, Kent, but moved to Erith sometime between 1858 and 1860, living there for seven or eight years before returning to Cranbrook. Though born at Erith, Charles was christened at Cranbrook on 9 January 1870, the same day as two of his siblings. He is listed in census returns as a baker and confectioner. He and his brother Mark married two sisters.Oliver-4952 15:17, 25 February 2017 (EST)
