Lydia died on 29 Apr 1852 at the age of 64 years and 9 months and is buried at the Black Mountain Cemetery in Sumner, Maine.[2]
Marriages
Lydia Doble of Sumner, Maine, married Stephen Doe, sometime after the death of his first wife, Ruth (Winslow) Doe, on 28 Feb 1823, and the birth of the first child of Stephen and Lydia, on 8 Jan 1825.[3] See the Research Note on Stephen Doe's profile for a discussion of his marriages and the mothers of his children.
The Doe Genealogy says that Stephen Doe's widow, Lydia (Doble) Doe, married Jonathan Roberts of Buckfield, Maine, on 21 Mar 1851.[3] Lydia's gravestone, however, gives her name as only "Lydia D" and says she was the wife of Stephen Doe, and does not mention Roberts.[2]
