Biography
Maria Eliza Dobson was born in Radford, Nottinghamshire in 1848.[1] She is the daughter of Edward Dobson and Mary Lough.
Maria was born in England and travelled to New Zealand with her mother (and three siblings) in 1851, one year after her father had migrated with the two eldest boys.
Maria married Robert York Weedon in Sumner, 9 December, 1876.[2][3]
They had four children in New Zealand before returning to England to live in Berkhampstead, Hertfordshire, where Robert died in 1889, aged only 48. Maria did not remarry; she lived in Berkhampstead with her daughters until her death on 11 March 1929.[4][5][6][7]
