Baptism

On 29 Aug 1784 George Dobson, of Bishop Auckland, son of James Dobson was baptised at Auckland, St Andrew. [1] Note another possible baptism would be 14 Jun 1789 George Dobson, of Bishop Auckland, son of Thomas Dobson, P [pauper] at Auckland, St Andrew.

Marriage

On 9 Oct 1808 George Dobson married Isabella Gray at Chester le Street, St. Mary and St. Cuthbert. Witnesses: Robert Gorden; William Pybus. [2]

Baptism of son Thomas

On 2 Apr 1809 Thomas Dobson, of Great Lumley, born 2-Jan 1809, 1st son of George Dobson (pitman, native of South Church) by his wife Isabella Gray (native of Great Lumley) was baptised at Chester le Street, St. Mary and St. Cuthbert. [3] Baptisms of other children give Thomas's place of birth as Auckland, St Andrew.

In 1851, George and his family were living at Sherburn Hill Village. [4]
