Biography

David was born in 1890. He is the son of Matthew Dobson and Eliza Russell. [1]

David emigrated to Canada. He enlisted with the Canadian Forces in WWI. Rank Private, Service No 115061 and posted with the Lord Strathcona Horse (Royal Canadians) R.C.A.C. David was firstly reported as missing and then as Killed in Action. His squadron met with heavy fire during a calavary charge at Moreuil Wood. Private David Dobson, aged 27, died during the conflict. [2]

He was posthumously awarded the Military Medal. Trooper David Dobson is remembered at the Vimy Memorial, Pas de Calais, France. [3] His final resting isn't known.
