Beulah (Doby) Andrews was born in North Carolina.
Beulah Doby was born on 27 May 1917 in Surry County, North Carolina to William "Billie" Thomas Doby and Maude Lee Fulk.[1]
On the 1920 Census, she was 2 years old and lived with her parents and siblings on Dobson Township, Surry County, NC.[2]
On the 1930 Census, she was 12 years old and lived with her parents and siblings in Dobson Township, Surry County, NC. She had attended school and was able to read and write.[3]
She was wed to Ernest Murphy Andrews on 24 Dec 1936 in Alamance County, North Carolina.[4] They had two children: Delma Ernest Andrews and Carrie Lea Andrews.
On the 1940 Census, she was 22 years old and lived with her husband and sun in Jefferson Township, Guilford County, North Carolina. Her highest level of education was 4th grade.[5]
On the 1950 Census, she was 33 years old and lived with her husband and children in Jefferson Township, Guilford County, NC.[6]
She passed away on 10 Aug 2013 in Greensboro, Guilford County, NC, and was buried at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina.[7]
Obituary
- Beulah Doby Andrews, 97, of Whitsett, passed away August 10, 2013, at Wesley Long Hospital.
- Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at McConnell Road Baptist Church. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
- The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.
- Beulah was born May 27, 1916, in Surry County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Murphy Andrews,; her daughter, Carrie Lea Hedrick; her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
- Beulah is survived by her son, Delma Ernest Andrews of Asheboro; her brother, Cletus Doby of Greensboro; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildern and seven great great Grandchildren.[8]
