Research Notes
Attached to her grandparents based on living with grandmother on 1881 census. Would need to order birth certificate to determine her mother. Mother's maiden name is blank on GRO search, suggesting her mother was unmarried.
Attaching Sarah to her grandparents produces an error since grandfather died years before she was born. So I attached Sarah to Elizabeth Jane for now. It seems unlikely that Elizabeth's sister Sarah was young Sarah's mother as she was marriied to Thomas Wearmouth in 1871 meaning that any child would have his surname rather than hers. Sister Tamar was marrying George Fothergill at the time of young Sarah's birth so also not a candidate. That leaves Matilda - possible but a bit young or Mary Ann or this lady Sarah Elizabeth. Perhaps someone will get the birth certificate one day and attach her to the correct mother.
