Hemperly, a lifelong resident of the county secured her poll tax receipt. She is 75 years old. She is the widow of the late Dr. Hemperly and lives in Sulphur township, 30 miles from here, on a farm where she and her husband settled more than half a century ago.^[8]

Lettie Ann Dodd was listed as the mother of Marcellus Hemperley who died April 7, 1960 in Hosston, Caddo Parish, Louisiana. The father was listed as E T Hemperley and the wife Ida Barnett.^[12]
