DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Barnabas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Barnabas:

Dodderer-30 and Dotterer-47 appear to represent the same person because: The profile data and text of these two profiles are consistent. Both profiles indicate uncertainty about the date of death (1758 vs. 1782).

I think the two profiles should be merged to Dotterer-47. The text of that profile implies that sources give that as the family's name in Germany. Additionally, at https://legacy.stoepel.net/en/Default.aspx I find evidence that Dotterer is a surname in modern Germany, primarily in the Heilbronn area that this man is supposed to be from. There are only a couple of instances in Germany of other variants of this name. I will adjust PPP settings so that Dotterer-47 is the merge destination.

This profile combines bits of sometimes-conflicting data from different GEDCOM-imported profiles. The assertion from one of these that he immigrated to Philadelphia in 1739 (which is inconsistent with much of the rest of the profile) seems very unlikely. I can't find any indication of anyone named Dodderer, Dotterer, Tothero, etc., indexed in Strassburger's Pennsylvania German Pioneers: A Publication of the Original Lists of Arrivals in the Port of Philadelphia from 1727 to 1808, Vol. I. And I skimmed the lists for 1739 and didn't find anything that looked like this name.
