Philip Dodridg(e) and Frances (Francis) Moore obtained a marriage license in New York on 15 October 1696.[1][2] There were married that same day, according to a record quoted by Mary Atkinson:
“This is to certify to all who it may concern, that Phillip Doddridge and Frances Moore was lawfully married October 15, 1696, per me, Mr. Simonem Smith, Chaplain to His Majestie’s Forces in New York in America.” [3]
